Husserl, Heidegger, Sartre, Merleau-Ponty) and medieval Christian philosophy (especially Neoplatonism, Johannes Scottus Eriugena, Meister Eckhart, Nicholas of Cusa), with <strong>5<\/strong> published monographs, <strong>1 <\/strong>co-authored book, <strong>10<\/strong> edited books (some multi-volume), <strong>34 <\/strong>peer-reviewed journal articles (in top-ranking, international, peer-reviewed journals e.g. <em>Synthese<\/em>, <em>Journal of the History of Philosophy, Continental Philosophy Review<\/em>), <strong>100<\/strong> chapters in refereed collections (major publishers: Oxford UP, Cambridge, Routledge, Stanford), and over <strong>280<\/strong> invited scholarly and conference presentations, including more than <strong>50<\/strong> plenary and keynote addresses.<\/p>\n<p>Dermot Moran\u2019s first monograph, <em>The Philosophy of John Scottus Eriugena: A Study of Idealism in the Middle Ages<\/em> (Cambridge UP., repr. 2004), was extensively, favourably reviewed (<strong>18<\/strong> reviews; <strong>314<\/strong>\u00a0citations), and is internationally a standard reference work. His 600-page monograph, <em>Introduction to Phenomenology<\/em> (Routledge 2000; 2<sup>nd<\/sup> ed in press) won the Ballard Prize for Phenomenology, USA (2001), has been translated into Chinese (2 versions: Simplified and Classic) and Spanish, with over <strong>20 <\/strong>favourable reviews and <strong>5003<\/strong>\u00a0citations. His 2005 monograph, <em>Edmund Husserl: Founder of Phenomenology <\/em>(Polity), has <strong>9<\/strong> positive reviews (\u201coutstanding\u201d <em>Times Higher Education Supplement<\/em>) and <strong>581<\/strong>\u00a0citations. Moran\u2019s fourth\u00a0monograph <em>Husserl\u2019s Crisis of the European Sciences and Transcendental Phenomenology <\/em>(Cambridge U.P. 2012) already has <strong>4<\/strong> reviews and <b>254<\/b> citations. Dermot Moran&#8217;s The Husserl Dictionary (Bloomsbury 2012), co-authored with Joseph Cohen has <strong>367<\/strong>\u00a0citations.<\/p>\n<p>Dermot Moran\u2019s edition of Husserl\u2019s <em>Logical Investigations<\/em> (Routledge, reprinted 2012) has <strong>7525 <\/strong>citations.<\/p>\n<p>Dermot Moran&#8217;s <em>The Phenomenology Reader<\/em>, co-edited with Tim Mooney (Routledge, 2002) has <strong>896<\/strong>\u00a0citations.<\/p>\n<p>Although the h-index is not usually used in European philosophy, Prof. Moran\u2019s h-index is currently a very respectable <strong>37<\/strong> [i-10-index = <strong>83<\/strong>] with <strong>33154 citations [11747 since 2018<\/strong>] (Google Scholar, accessed 11 September 2023).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=-hARqW0AAAAJ&amp;hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visit Dermot&#8217;s page on Google Scholar.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dermot Moran\u00a0is an internationally recognized expert in phenomenology (esp.
